Shawnna Patterson is a board-certified neurologist providing top-tier care to residents of Rockledge, Florida, and the surrounding areas. Dr. Patterson earned her bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida, in 1993. She continued her education at the University of Iowa College of Medicine, earning her medical degree and doctorate. Following her graduation, she took on an internship at the University of Maryland Medical Systems in Baltimore, Maryland. After completing her internship, Dr. Patterson remained in Baltimore to continue her neurology residency at the University of Maryland Medical Systems. She then completed a neurology postdoctoral research fellowship at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Today, Dr. Patterson keeps up on the latest research and developing treatments in her field with a membership in the American Academy of Neurology. She brings patients at Knight Neurology the latest treatments and procedures for common and rare neurological conditions, including movement disorders, balance disorders, neuropathy, epilepsy, and multiple sclerosis. In addition to her position at Knight Neurology, Dr. Patterson has staff privileges at Cape Canaveral Hospital.
