EP0162 is a clinical study by UCB evaluating an investigational, fast-acting seizure treatment designed to quickly stop prolonged epileptic seizures and help prevent them from returning. The study focuses on safety and how well it can bring rapid relief during seizure episodes, offering hope for a faster, more reliable rescue option for patients living with epilepsy.

 

To qualify, participants generally must:

• Age: 18 years or older

​

• Have epilepsy diagnosis (focal or generalized or both)

​

• Have a history of stereotypical prolonged seizures, such as:

  • Focal seizures lasting ≥ 3 minutes

  • Generalized seizure clusters lasting ≥ 5 minutes

  • Recurrent prolonged seizure patterns documented over time

• Have frequent seizure episodes in recent months

​

• Be on stable anti-seizure medications

​

• Have a caregiver available to observe seizures and assist during episodes
